The Yankees struggles continued when they got shutout 4-0 vs the Rays,

The scoring by the Rays started on a Issac Paredes RBI single in the top of the 4th and 3 in the top of the 9th with a single by Jose Siri and 2 run single by Yandy Diaz.

Cole had a good starting going 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 run, walking 2, and striking out 6 batters. This would lower his ERA to 3.30, showing another great start after his struggle vs the Mariners.

The Yankees offense who were shutout was 1 for 5 in RISP and were shutout for the time this year, they would also leave 7 men on base. including the bases loaded in the bottom of the 4th inning.

The big negative coming out fo the game was the offense but a big part of it was the play of Aaron Hicks. In the 4th inning he couldn't track down a fly ball that was hit by a David Peralta that would give him a triple and later the rays would get a run. In the Bottom of the 4th inning, Hicks would groundout into double play that was hit weakly to the Rays pitcher. He would to get booed form yankees fans from his struggles.

A big positive from the game was the outing from Jonathan Loaisiaga, as he pitched 1.1 innings and striking out 2 batters, which great to see as he has been struggling this year posting a 6.00 ERA.

The Yankees improved their record to 72-44.
