The first big free agent the Yankees need to get is a shortstop

There are improvements the Yankees need to make to their roster after the CBA is agreed upon, and these are the 3 main free agents they need to get.
1. Carlos Correa
The big shortstop out of Puerto Rico is a big acquisition the Yankees need for Shortstop to complete their offense and would be a great defender behind Cole and other starting pitchers.
While injury is a big suspect for Correa, as he hasn't played more that 140 games twice in his career, you take that risk with it.
Correa bat is a big part of his game, As his 162 average home run hitter of 29 hr a year. It would add a great bat to the lineup and shortstop position that the Yankees haven't gotten since Torres struggles.
Shortstop was a big struggle in 2021 for the Yankees. As they hit a combined 10 Home Runs with a a .257 average and a combined .657 OPS. Correa in 2021 had a .850 Ops with an average of .279.
The big elephant in the room is obviously him being part of the cheating scandal in the 2017 world series team, as they were stealing catcher signals and using garbage cans to signal if a breaking ball was coming. The home numbers are way better for Correa than the road numbers and it shows that, but the road numbers are still good.
He was batting .301 average with 13 home runs and 44 runs batted in, and he did this in 58 games. Correa only played 109 games in 2017 due to injury and he was still very good on the road.
That is why the Yankees need to sign Correa, probably one of the most talented players in the league and you can not miss-out on this player.
2. Carlos Rodon
The 2nd player the Yankees need to get is a starting pitcher in a lefty named Carlos Rodon. The former 2nd overall pick in the 2014 draft started in 24 games in 2021 performing a 2.37 E.RA but didn't start enough games to be top 5 in the earned run average category.
Rodon can really help versus the lefty hitters, as the lefty vs lefty advantage really helps them with the short porch in right field is a hitter dream. Rodon vs left hitters in 2021 hit a .240 average by only 111 plate appearances by hitters. We see that over time last years vs hitters he can shut down lefty hitters, which the Yankees need.
Rodon improved from a 5.19 E.R.A to a 2.37 E.R.A in 2021, he improved a-lot from 2019 to 2021. Injury is still a big concern with Rodon, but you take that pitching with him.
3. Freddie Freeman
The first baseman is a big issue with Rizzo going into free agency and Voit health issues, so the Yankees need to pick the best first baseman since he entered the league in 2010, in Freddie Freeman.
Since entering the league, Freeman has lead 2nd in all of first baseman in hits with 1,704, 6th in home runs with 271, 3rd in average with .295. He lead 3rd in RBI with 975.
So since he has debuted he has been the best of the best in the league, and the Yankees in 2021 did not contribute that much. Yankees first baseman combined for 24 home runs, and 69 RBI.
Freeman had a .300 batting average and Yankees first baseman combined for .213 Batting average.
So first base is a need for the Yankees and Freeman can help it with his elite bat and can get on base with a career average of .384 and his defense with a DRS of 11, which is defensive runs saved which estimate how much runs he saved. +11 means he saved 11 runs more than the average first baseman.
These are the 3 free agents the Yankees need to get that will make them a chamionship team and put them at the top like the Dodgers.
